Jeff Lynn Goldblum was born on October 22, 1952 in the United States, graduated from Carnegie Mallon University in Pittsburgh, received an acting education at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York, where he began to study since the age of 17.
Goldblum made his film debut in 1974 as a rapist in Death Wish. The actor worked a lot in the theater, played on television in various series. In the mid-80s, Goldblum starred in two films that became a springboard for the actor in his career.
In 1985, Lawrence Kasdan’s western “Silverado” was released, in which Goldblum played the role of an insidious card player, and in 1986 he starred in David Cronenberg’s sci-fi thriller “The Fly”, in which the second main role was played by Gene Davis – they married her the following year and divorced in 1990.
At the turn of the 80s and 90s, Goldblum participated in several joint projects with the British and French. True success to the talented actor came after the big-budget productions of Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park and The Lost World, where he played the role of eccentric mathematician Ian Malcolm. Even higher stakes Goldblum rose after the fantastic tape of Roland Emmerich “Independence Day”, in which his hero in the company of a combat pilot (Will Smith) and the US President (Bill Pullman) saves the world from the invasion of aliens.
Goldblum was married twice, his third close friend, almost wife, was Laura Dern, whom he met on the set of Jurassic Park in 1992. In 1995, Jeff tried his hand at directing – and was immediately nominated for an Oscar for Best Short Film.
In addition, Jeff Goldblum teaches acting in a small studio, and in his spare time plays in a small jazz band (piano and vocals). By the way, he does this with his friend Peter "Robocop" Weller.
