James Rebhorn was born on September 1, 1948 in Pennsylvania. His family was quite wealthy, and parents who did not have higher education, did everything to their children managed to graduate from college. Young Rebhorn entered Wittenberg University, where he studied political science. Then the young man moved to New York, where he studied at the school of art at Columbia University. It is here that James gets into the artistic environment, and begins to attend castings together with his friends.
His first works were TV projects “How the World Turns”, “Spencer”, “Smart”, “Law and Order”. He managed to get to the big screen only in the 90s, when he was invited to play one of the main roles in the remake of the famous film “The Scent of a Woman” (1993). The directors appreciated the impressive Rebhorn, and next year Carlito's Way (1994) comes out. Then star films go one after another: Independence Day (1996), The Game (1997), The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999), Parcel (2009).
But this actor is able to reincarnate not only in complex criminal or dramatic characters, he perfectly manages and comedic role. So he miraculously portrayed Dr. Larry Banks in the comedy Meet the Parents (2000) and Belcher in The Adventure of the Dodger Nesh (2002), as well as a secondary character in Head of State (2003). /
