Peter Stormare was born on August 27, 1953 in Arbra, Sweden. He did not plan to connect his life with acting, but in 1982, the famous Swedish screenwriter Ingmar Bergman invited the young man to play a cameo role in the film Fani and Alexander, which later received a Cesar and four Oscars. For some time Stormare worked in one of the Swedish theaters as an actor and director, participated in such productions as “Bacchanki”, “Hamlet”, “The Long Way Goes to Midnight”.
In 1990, Peter received a tempting offer from the Coen brothers to play in the film Miller’s Crossings, but the actor refused the role, as he could not leave Sweden for a long time because of a contract with the theater.
Since 1991, Peter Stormare has worked mainly outside his homeland, often playing on the stages of theaters in London, New York and Tokyo. After successful productions in the elite London theater "Almeida" he gained popularity in English-speaking theater circles.
In 1996, the Coen brothers again remembered Peter and invited him to star in the role of a murderer in the film Fargo. The film was based on real events and received many different awards. After appearing in this tape Stormare became famous all over the world, his popularity allowed him to get many offers. The actor alternated participation in low-budget films and large-budget action films.
In 2000, he managed to star in the films Alien Game.
