Maxim Monguzhukovich Munzuk was born on September 15, 1912 (according to other sources - May 2, 1910) in Tuva. He began his creative activity with music - led the military orchestra of the artillery regiment of the Tuvan People's Republic (later part of the USSR). Maxim Monguzhukovich Munzuk was born on September 15, 1912 (according to other sources - May 2, 1910) in Tuva. He began his creative activity with music - led the military orchestra of the artillery regiment of the Tuvan People's Republic (later part of the USSR). In 1939, Maxim Munzuk was appointed head of the Uran Theatre-Studio, which was first organized in Tuva, and he entered the history of Tuvan culture as one of the founders of the national theater. The talent of Maxim Munzuk was truly versatile - he was not only an actor and director, he collected national musical folklore, was a singer and composer, was engaged in pedagogical activities. He played a huge number of roles of a very different nature and plan on the stage of the Tuvan musical and dramatic theater named after V. Kok-ool. Maksim Munzuk made his film debut in 1971 in the film The Missing Witness. In total, the actor played in more than twenty films, among them - "Preliminary Investigation" (1978), "In the Trail of the Lord" (1979), "The Last Hunt" (1979), "A Walk Worth Men" (1979), "Valentine" (1981), "Revenge" (1990). But the most outstanding achievement of Maxim Munzuk was the title role in Akira Kurosawa’s film “Dersu Uzala”. The film was released on the world screen in 1975 and was awarded many cinematic awards, including the Oscar for best foreign film.
