Born in the city of Vilna. In 1914-1917 he studied at the Petrograd Psycho-Neurological Institute, in 1917-1922 at the medical school of Saratov University. In parallel, he worked in the arts department as a teacher and rector of the Higher Workshops of Theatre Art, director of theaters.
