Kill Bill is Quetnin Tarantino’s fourth film, divided into two parts due to its long timekeeping. If in his first three films Tarantino showed us the American mafia, here he decided to demonstrate the features of the Japanese bandits. And watching what is happening on the screen is incredibly interesting.
However, in the center of the story is not Japanese, but American Black Mamba (Uma Thurman). Driven by revenge for turning her wedding into a bloodbath in which she miraculously did not die, she kills everyone involved throughout the film. And it does it beautifully, stylishly, as they say, “with a light”.
Like all other Tarantino films, it has a very good plot, interesting dialogue and great directing. Separately, I want to note what happened near the end of the first part of “Kill Bill” the fight of the main character with several dozen Japanese at the same time. This scene is beautiful, very cruel and the most spectacular in the whole film. And that’s what I remember for a lifetime.
Summing up, I want to say that Quentin Tarantino is one of the most talented directors of our time. Even taking on a new genre for himself, he not only performed with dignity, but to some extent revived it, brought it to a completely new level (he will later do the same with Westerns). Although I personally can not call it the best work of the maestro.

It was with this picture that I began my acquaintance with the work of Quentin Tarantino. The director, whose works are distinguished by a good work of characters, long and interesting dialogues, as well as an abundance of black humor and bloody murders. The master of his business, he will still put a lot of quality films.
Speaking of the film itself, it is worth highlighting the main character of Uma Thurman. A bride who takes revenge on her abusers. How did he get such a brilliant idea? To embody such an image on the screen: a bloody bride, cutting off her enemies with a katana, tearing out her eyes and tearing their hearts apart. Something was borrowed from Bruce Lee. Something from Chinese films about martial arts. Having collected individual moments, the director showed an original story, with his legend, his characters, and the general component.
Many musical compositions, we could hear in other paintings, at different times. But this is where they became memorable.
The most difficult to stage and the most fascinating was the fight scene with 88 rabid. This is a kind of tribute and honor to the paintings with Bruce Lee.
A distinctive feature is that the film is not positioned as thrash. He's beyond genres. Raising the bar much higher. Stylish, bloody action movie, with great fights. In the tape, there is even a graphic comic book, in the style of anime works. Describes some details of the past heroes.
Quentin didn't show us everything in one timeline. He divided the story into two interconnected parts. To find out how it all ended, see Vol. 2.
Is that what I think?
You didn’t think it would be that easy, did you?
You know, for a second, yeah, I thought so.

Quentin Tarantino is a recognized genius of cinema, his films are always a success. ' Kill Bill' no exception. This movie is rightfully included in the list of my favorite films, and I can watch it again and again, and every time I get an indelible pleasure.
Some may think that Tarantino shoots not quite realistic - too much blood in many scenes, the battle of the main character with a hundred enemies and so on. But for me, that's the beauty of the movie. It is from the fact that it is not shot as a banal movie with explosions and murders, not as an ordinary action movie or thriller. every detail is thought out, qualitatively and in detail, every gesture is the author's idea. Our attention is taken into a trap from the first minute and not let go until the very end. It is impossible to stop watching.
The acting is excellent. Especially great is Uma Thurman, who fell in love after this film, Lucy Liu and Daryl Hannah. The dialogues have deep meaning, as does the whole film, imbued with highly spiritual philosophy and life lessons. The film teaches a lot.
The main features 'Kill Bill' are beauty, grace, originality and a beautiful production. No banalism or stamping. Nothing boring or boring. No nonsense. One of the few films on such a bloody theme, which is shot simply superbly. So many memorable scenes and details parodied by many people in many countries. Isn’t that a sign of success?
Great movie, I highly recommend it. Deserved top rating.
Killing Bill is an example of classic Quentin in its purest form. No one could have made this movie except him. Any other director, having read the script, would just get scared, cry and run away, while deciding to change profession. I don’t know how he came up with that, but I’ll be forever grateful for the work he did. This is my most positive review.
About Tarantino.
With his work, Quentin proved that we are not interested in other people’s problems and concerns, we mostly do not care about the experiences, goals and priorities of other people. Hunger, war, unpunished crime – all this does not care, but whether Vince Vega sleeps with Mia Wallace after evening gatherings in the bar – that’s really interesting to everyone. You know what I mean? All people are selfish, and those who deny this fact are doubly selfish. All we want to do is follow our own path and at the same time enjoy ourselves as much as possible. You know, Tarantino's a little bit like Lars Von Trier, and he also understands that people are angels, but unlike Lars, he accepts the world with optimism, he doesn't get depressed, he doesn't try to change us or reproach us for the purpose of repentance. He is rather the opposite, as if glossing over our not very pleasant sides and passes them off as cool advantages and pluses, so his films have never had heroes that we could despise or hate, all of them are incredibly attractive. Quentin shoots a movie, precisely, in order to entertain his viewer, without bothering him with additional information, philosophy and problems, although all this, of course, is present in his works, all of them are filled with much more content than it seems at the first viewing, but morality is slightly pushed aside and goes to the background, Cinema is always in the first place, as a great art and entertainment. The director, as it were, says : - I make a movie guys, enjoy it, everything is shot very cool and beautiful, the plot is just a bomb, if you see in my works a deep meaning or find something clever or entertaining in them, then it is doubly cool, I will only be happy.
The plot is quite simple, but the picture does not lose. This is a story of revenge: five people committed a terrible massacre to another person, and now it will make them pay for it.
The characters of the first part of the film.
The Bride.
What power does real talent have? After all, it is not a secret for fans that Uma long rested on her epochal role in Fiction, referring to excessive violence, but after working with the genius, already on the set of the film, she vividly discussed how it would be cruel and bloody to revenge the people who betrayed her character. Its most irresistible traits: perseverance, steadfastness, obsession with its purpose, but at the same time prudence. All this bribes and makes the heroine very cute for the viewer. Sin will not write about the great work done by Uma, in addition to constant heavy physical exertion, she had to practice a lot in Japanese and simultaneously work out the world of her character. The story of the Bride will be told in the second volume of the film. An important detail is a list of five names she will take revenge on.
1. O-Ren Ishii.
Number one on the death list for obvious reasons. O-Ren Ishii is the current queen of the Tokyo Mafia, already at the age of twenty she became the best hired killer among women. Half of the first film is devoted to this heroine, namely, it is devoted to a short but stunning anime, which, as well as possible, fit into the film, after it is difficult not to fall in love with the biography of O-Ren, because it is not just good – it is unique. Lucy Lew O-Ren is portrayed as a thoughtful, cold, vigilant and ruthless head of the Tokyo mafia. She wields the samurai sword inimitably, and her principles and deeds are respected with considerable admiration. At her disposal a whole army, ready at any moment to give her life, this makes her perhaps the most difficult target for the Bride.
2. Vernita Green.
This heroine is given the least time, only the first introductory part, which lasts only about 15 minutes. This chapter, originally titled 2, was voiced by our translators as the Second Victim. In the second minute of this episode, an epic rout of a cozy house created in the style of the American Dream unfolds. This chapter was created in order to somehow prepare the viewer for the upcoming spectacle, they say - "Keep yourself in your hands, then there will be more". Back to heroin. So, despite the fact that Vernete is given a meager amount of time - she is fully revealed, and the audience will not forget her: a typical black housewife in a cozy blue and black sweater, so she first appears before us. Noticing such a woman on the street or in the store, we would never assume that she is a former killer, so the carnage in the house incredibly contrasts with the quiet cute neighborhood, which gives this fight even more entertainment and brightness.
Tarantino is a genius. In all films, we are used to putting ourselves in the place of the hero we like and analyzing his actions, empathizing with him. When the viewer watches Tarantino’s films, he does not choose “who he should be,” he follows the action as a whole and enjoys it much more than if he were watching one. In addition, to compare yourself with one of the heroes of Tarantino is almost impossible because of their uniqueness and uniqueness. Therefore, we see the whole picture without clinging to anyone or anything specific, namely, the Spectator himself is the main character in all Quentin’s films and this leads me to a wild delight.
I’ve watched this film hundreds of times, watched it when I was sad, fun, bored, watched it before competitions, before exams, before other important days, read the original script several times, saw many recordings from the shooting, documentaries about the creation, but I still can’t understand how he managed to make a movie of this kind, so harmoniously and flawlessly combine together incompatible genres and styles. A masterpiece for all time, cult cinema, classic Quentin.
For a long time I postponed watching this film. After watching the first chapter on television as a child, and seeing how the heroine brutally dealt with her “second victim”, she immediately switched, and did not understand why the woman broke into the house of such a “decent housewife”, and even without saying anything, began to deal with her. And then she killed her, leaving the baby without a mother. It is good that then I did not look further, this picture is not for children's viewing.
Now, after a long time, I suddenly remembered this film after hearing my favorite soundtrack (Nancy Sinatra – Bang Bang-my baby shot me down) and decided to see what was going on.
The work of such a brilliant director as Quentin Tarantino can be recognized, perhaps immediately. His films have their own distinctive features, they are very stylish and quality, they can not be forgotten or confused. They're really impressive. There is a special energy involved.
After watching the film, I finally understand why Uma Thurman became the muse of the great Tarantino. I fell in love with this actress from the first few seconds of the film. Throughout the picture, it is impossible to break away from her game, there is a certain charm in it.
Her character is an incredibly strong woman who overcomes all difficulties in her path. Another would have gone mad, but this woman not only survived, but also found the strength to take revenge and start living again. It's amazing fortitude. She knows what she wants, she has goals to achieve. Looking at the heroine, there is a belief in yourself that if you really want something, you will achieve, the main rule is never to give up. Especially impressed was the scene of punching the lid of the coffin with a fist, from the second part.
I really liked Lucy Liu’s performance as O-Ren Ishia. Unshakable, firm, self-confident, a true leader!
A lover of anime, so the story of the heroine would prefer to look in a different form.
And finally, Ellie Driver. One scene in the hospital where she goes whistling, what's worth it! A real bitch, doing everything according to plan, and with such calmness!
The famous bloody spectacle in the house of blue leaves looks, of course, spectacular, but not realistic. It is great that the main character laid everyone who stood in her way, the severed limbs only flew away! But still.
I remember Gogo very much. Despite her young age, she is so professional!
I want to note the excellent camera work and suitable music in this picture.
Despite the violence and violence in the film, I loved it. I didn’t regret wasting my time watching.
In my review of the film Jackie Brown, I expressed the thesis that Tarantino’s work can be divided into several stages. And if the film about a black aging flight attendant was more of a transitional work, the saga of a vengeful hired killer completed this difficult switch between styles. What is the difference between early and late Tarantino? First, Quentin gained access to huge, virtually limitless budgets. The cost of shooting “Kill Bill” was four times the budget of his classic “Pulp Fiction”, which, even when adjusted for inflation, is not a meager increase. What can you spend that money on? Tarantino is not used to spending money on Hollywood duds, preferring to them personally raised actors. Just like to waste money on empty special effects is also not in his style. Therefore, the expansion of the budget should result in something very worthwhile. That's what happened. In 2003, the first part of the dilogy about the avenger in a yellow suit was released on the screens of cinemas.
Killing Bill is no longer a “life story” to which Tarantino’s previous creations could be safely attributed. The new work of Quentin is a real blockbuster. But this word in reference to "Kill Bill" can only be used with a stretch, like any attempt to classify Tarantin's works. The maestro, formally working in this direction, once again extended the usual framework and went far beyond them.
As everyone knows, the Kill Bill consists of two parts. Although some critics do not recognize this division, merging both parts into one, I would not. The first part of the film is an attempt to saturate the most hidden and most powerful human passion - the passion for cruelty. Cruelty without embellishment, what occurs in everyday life, is vile and repulsive. But the aesthetic cruelty, the violence presented in a beautiful wrapper is a spectacle worth spending time on. And it is the ability to balance on the verge between abomination and aesthetics, the ability to give the viewer what his animal instinct wants, at the right time restraining the coming vomiting urges, and distinguishes the amateur from the professional. "Human centipede" was shot by an amateur. "Kill Bill" took away the genius. The scene in a Japanese restaurant is the pinnacle of a bloody aesthetic. It is unlikely that another director will ever manage to create a more powerful episode.
Another fundamental difference of the first part of “Kill Bill” is the absence of a clear charismatic hero in this film. Charismatic in the purely Tarantinian sense of the word, which means a hero so whole and authentic that it seems that he is really wandering around the streets of Los Angeles, and the cameraman only points at him at the right moment. Such a character lives his life, and every action on the screen is not overlooked even by the most inattentive viewer. This was Sam Jackson’s character in Reading. The dialogue of this hero for a long time sounded in the minds of the audience. But Quentin’s new film is more of an action movie than a typical Tarantin crime, and the characters here are charismatic, but with their harsh brutality and cruelty than their ability to conduct dialogue.
To Kill Bill is a film about Japan. Tarantino's Personal Manifesto to the Mysterious East To some extent, this picture can be compared to the Last Samurai. If the film, directed by Edward Zwick, showed how the European expansion to the East began, the film Tarantino told the audience about what it eventually turned out for the “land of the rising sun”.
To sum up, the beginning of a new creative period of the unsurpassed Tarantino began with more than dignity. However, it should be remembered that the Kill Bill consists of two parts, and you can not talk about one without watching the other. It is like analyzing the second volume of War and Peace without reading all the others. In my opinion, the first part of “Kill Bill” is rather a prelude to a more serious and qualitatively filled second part. Despite the fact that the film never shows Bill’s face, his cowboy boots and voiceover alone are enough to plunge the viewer into awe and make them look forward to the continuation.
Hattori Hanzo: Revenge is never a straight line. It's a forest, and like a forest it's easy to lose your way To get lost... To forget where you came in.
A great original and boundlessly in love with cinema, Quentin Tarantino, in addition to his own scripts, uses all the best that is found in the world of cinema. He draws from various sources, takes everything that made the greatest impression on him, which, according to his plan, will not leave the viewer indifferent.
Tarantino does not disdain and the simplest techniques, for example, widely uses violence, its various forms, sometimes shocking the viewer, but so well fit into the plots of his paintings.
If the vast majority of films that the dream factory recently produces can be called mainstream, then the work of Quentin Tarantino stands out from the general background. I don't care about the mass audience, I don't care about age ratings, Ferrari Italian shit, Tarantino is above all these trifles, above pop dogma.
And indeed, Kill Bill, become another creation of Quentin Tarantino, which, in his inimitable style, he seems to exaggerate classical cinematic techniques, transform them, give them a new life.
His main achievement, I believe, is Umu Thurman as a dangerous and sophisticated killer. Tarantino says, “Look what I can do, what I can do.” I'm going to take a good actress, but I'm not going to be a good actress, I'm going to put a samurai sword in her hands, I'm going to put it in the legendary Bruce Lee costume, I'm going to give it all the skills. And you will not have time to blink an eye, as very soon her image will be called legendary.
And what can you say here, Uma Thurman is really good, like all the significant images in the picture. Their style and elaboration, shooting and staging scenes all deserve the highest praise. And how can it be otherwise, because it's Tarantino, you tell anyone, and if he's even a little knowledgeable, he'll immediately know what you're talking about. Tarantino, engaged in creativity, which to my great joy gives pleasure, in addition to himself, millions of viewers.
The plot and the main events in Kill Bill, for the most part, is the theme of revenge, it is the main driving force. Enemies are charismatic and worthy of death. The author raises to the limit the degree of future confrontation committed over the heroine by a crime, this is not forgiven. Bill is a classic villain, just hands and nothing more. Mystery, real evil never betrays itself immediately, meeting with him is a long-awaited dessert.
What a winter garden scene. Personally, I adore her, it is a greeting from the great Italian master of spaghetti westerns Sergio Leone. The blond avenger Uma Thurman and the eastern goddess Lucy Liu fight in some unearthly beauty scenery, the bravo of Tarantino.
A separate line, it is worth noting the music that sounds in the film. In addition to classical works, compositions are played, which before getting into the film were known and listened to by thousands, after the premiere of the movie they are listened to and loved by millions.
All in all, bravo maestro, bravo!
We can talk endlessly about this film and about the films of Quentin Tarantino. Each of his works is such a stylish, high-quality, thought-out movie to the smallest detail, having its own distinctive features. His work is impossible to confuse and also impossible to forget. Needless to say, I bow to this man, a genius whose films are simply divinely beautiful.
Kill Bill for the first time I saw on TV, so at 10 years old, then caught the eye of the last shocking shots with the heroine Lucy Liu. Yeah, not for kids. I remember these pictures very well.
I watched it at a more mature age and I still enjoy watching it every time. Every time you discover something new. Although this film needs to be watched at least twice to capture every detail, they are very important here, they create this unique atmosphere.
Actors are flawless. A genius must have muses, and Tarantino is no exception. Uma Thurman is certainly one of them. Here we see her as an incredibly strong, strong-willed woman, ready to overcome any difficulties in order to achieve her goals.
Other actors are equally admired. Lucy Liu, Daryl Hannah, Sonny Chiba, Julie Dreyfus, Michael Madsen, Vivika A. Fox, look at them is a pleasure.
I can't help but mention the music. You can safely compose a playlist of compositions that are present in the film and enjoy it, like the film, again and again.

It can't be any less. I want to thank everyone who participated in the creation of this masterpiece. Excellent.
In this film, Quentin Tarantino literally poured out his admiration and love feelings on the viewer. The film itself is a thrash typical of Quentinotarantin films, mixed with Eastern culture and seasoned with ' deep-thinking' morality. All in the spirit of the eccentric director, for which he actually became so famous. However, many of my friends could not understand and accept this film. To be honest, I didn’t really love him at the time. But, having decided to reconsider, finally and irrevocably changed his opinion. In the film good scenes of natural, Tarantino did not want to draw blood on the computer (hello good old paint in condoms), action with seas of blood, which gives a lot of fun.

Bill, the tough boss of the Killer Viper Squad specializing in contract killings, took custody of a girl named Black Mamba. After a while, she turned into a killing machine and began working for her patron, considered the best on his team. But when Black Mamba decided to quit, Bill did not like it, and on the wedding day of Black Mamba (already pregnant) she was assassinated.
The bad guys killed everyone at the wedding ceremony. The bride who received a bullet in the head, miraculously survived, but fell into a coma. For five years of staying unconscious, lustful orderlies from the medical staff regularly handed over the Bride's body to visiting truckers for 2 bucks per minute of intercourse, of course, without her consent. But one day, from a mosquito bite, Black Mamba woke up. She remembered being killed. And now she has only one thing to do: revenge.
This “cinema about nothing” will give odds to many “pictures about everything” (and often just about nothing), while, at first glance, being “just” a soluga of quotes from samurai, cowboy and Shaolin militants, a cruel parody of the thrash that regularly throws mass culture into the market in abundance. At the same time, the history of revenge of the modern Countess of Monte Cristo also in a wild mixture cites classics - from spaghetti Westerns by Sergio Leone and Easterns by Akira Kurosawa to ultra-fashionable advanced fighters like the first Matrix, without disdaining even the scandalous Japanese animation.
As a result, after six years of “simple” Tarantino presents to the public a perfect movie, which arouses admiration for its professional “frostbite”, and the effect of the impact is quite comparable to what was left in the hearts of the public at the time “Pulp Fiction”. It is clear that this guy for six years was not wading around, basking in the rays of burning glory, and revisited for the seventh time those films that most people will not watch under any circumstances.
Therefore, the main mystery of the phenomenon of Tarantino and his creation is the charming attraction that makes you look at him without stopping, and even sincerely empathize with what is happening. If you remove the technical perfection, which includes filigree editing and camera work, the most complex battle scenes and honed dialogue, then the dry residue should be the very thing that constitutes the magic of this film. Because without her, we've seen all of this one way or another. And in this remnant, just find - "elementary" Passion, Mania and Love of Cinema.
Tarantino, unlike his brothers, never learned to treat it as a means of earning money, when promising talents “lie down” under the producer and begin to shoot purely to order, guided by only one principle: “What will you do?” By the degree of creative uncompromising Tarantino can be called Alexei Herman of modern Hollywood. Not in terms of long-term construction, but in the thoroughness of the manufacture of a product intended as if for mass consumption, but at the same time being an object of manual work, individual tailoring, where all the details are adjusted so perfectly that no gap remains.
The atypical alchemist of our days again does something incredible with a molecular grid of throwaway genres and gives up the mountain on a grain of gold of the highest standard. It is known that only on the scene of the fight in the Japanese club Tarantino worked as much as 8 weeks, which in time was comparable to the shooting of the whole “Pulp Fiction” – from beginning to end. Ten years earlier, he had made a dizzying career in film, while many adamantly refused to believe that a video distribution clerk by definition could make something good. Moreover, until the end of the century he managed to remain a living classic, almost nothing to show the public.
In this film, Tarantino talks about death, or rather about life after death, as if no one had ever dared to raise the topic before him. At the same time, he makes a solemnly meaningless movie, demonstrating an unacceptable freedom in Hollywood. Thus, he once again proves that he continues to be a revolutionary of cinema, although he pretends to be someone simpler. Fights borrowed from hundreds of Hong Kong militants are much more than dialogue. But the characteristic and seemingly unnatural excess of violence makes his movie not frightening, but, on the contrary, comic.
Uma Thurman and others do not play here in the conventional sense of the word. They are used as artifacts, as puppets, executing the will of the puppet-guru. And when against the backdrop of a bloody battle suddenly begins to sound one of the most worn melodies of all time - "Lonely Shepherd" Lasta, then it too becomes a sign of freedom. And the last confirmation of the author’s emancipation was the strong-willed decision to split the film into two, so that the denouement of this story was revealed to the viewer only six months later.
Kill Bill is a bright and delightful criminal action movie by Quentin Tarantino in 2003. This movie is my favorite movie that this director made. The film turned out to be dynamic and impressive, and this movie is exceptional and unlike anything. It has a pleasant atmosphere, which was invented by the director, and the story is full of battles and an incredible story from which it is impossible to break away. We see a bride whose wedding did not take place, and she takes revenge on all those who deprived her of happiness and wanted to send her to the next world.
The movie is full of action and exciting and beautiful scenes, and this movie I love and it is unique. Not seeing it, I think, means really losing a lot. Uma Thurman is a great and strong American actress, and her role is my favorite. In this crazy action movie, she played talentedly: very sensual and emotional, and in the lead role, Uma looked worthy. She was undoubtedly the heart and soul of this story, and with her we are walking the bloody path of vengeance she is taking. Lucy Lew created a very mysterious and mysterious heroine, which I really like in this film, and this actress played talentedly, and I liked it the most in this story. Daryl Hannah is an interesting actress and a beautiful woman, and she was perfect for this negative role and played it chic. I also wanted to mention the heroine of Go-Go, played by Japanese actress Chiaki Kuriyama. The scene of the battle of Thurman and Kuriyama was very spectacular and memorable.
The music in this film is chic, and Tarantino’s film was made qualitatively and interestingly, and I love his movies from the first to the last shot. There are so many emotions, pain, battles and what makes people do crazy things – revenge.
This first film is a delightful entertaining gift from a talented director, and I love this criminal action movie because it captures the imagination, and it is simply impossible to break away from it. Tarantino is a really good director who makes his own films, and he has undoubtedly contributed to world cinema. “Kill Bill: Vol. 1” is a chic movie that will be in the taste of any audience, and seeing this film, it will be difficult to forget it.
Bravo Tarantino! Bravo Thurman!
This film by the master of aesthetic film violence is very difficult to evaluate. Many militants do, trying to lay some heavy-handed idea in them, to retreat from the formula “the main character is not taken a bullet, he easily kills a hundred bad guys, but his conscience does not torment him.” Shot according to such a canon, the film simply gives pleasure to the viewer, everything is fake, it is agreed in advance that there will be many brutal murders, no “stress”, I want moralizing – I will go watch a psychological thriller of some or realistic drama. And here is such a clean action movie shot Tarantino, of course, in his corporate style, which is not to be confused with anyone else. And it's not hypocritical, it's giving viewers what they want from films of this genre - beautiful murders in the context of a gripping story. Beautiful murder is an extremely cynical phrase, but it accurately describes all the deprivations of life that occur in Tarantino films and the aesthetic presentation of violence is his specialty. Despite all the talk about morality, humanity and the prevention of violence in any of its forms, people always with some sick interest watch reports of incidents, surround with cameras fighting, instead of disassembling them, or crowds of onlookers stand around the building where the hostages were taken. For them it is an emotional discharge, a tickle of nerves, which they sincerely love, although they do not admit. And for such people, that is, for almost everyone, "Kill Bill" has become one of the favorite movies.
The main theme of the film is revenge. Beatrix Kiddo takes revenge on his abusers who killed her fiancé, child and almost killed her. After 4 years in a coma, she, in fact, rises from the dead to bear retribution in the name of herself and her unborn daughter. Uma Thurman created a straight archetypal character of a vengeful woman, I do not know how to say otherwise. The will, strength, ruthlessness and inexplicable charm of Beatrix are admirable. One against all, she never gives reason to reproach her for weakness or thoughtlessness, the Avenger confidently steps towards the main goal - "Kill Bill". On her way get Cotton, who settled down and started a family, but the Bride does not care, the punishment overtakes her as well as the others on the list and Oren Ishi and her gang 88 Rabid in the House of Blue Leaves. This episode is worthy of a separate mention - the 20-minute scene of a continuous fight, which was shot by Tarantino, is simply magnificent and you just can not believe your eyes, which run away from the number of severed limbs. All 88 Mad Men effectively perform their role, which is clear to all - to die beautifully by the sword of the Black Mamba. It's just a festival of dismemberment, where blood flows like a river and a katana whistles relentlessly in the air, catching up with everyone who stands on the path of revenge. A final battle Oren and Beatrix in the beautiful Tokyo winter garden puts a bloody point in the adventures of Beatrix in the first part.
Yes, Beatrix recovers from limb atrophy in a few hours, when in reality it would take a few weeks, yes, everyone fights with cold weapons and none of 88 Mad Men has a gun to just shoot the main character, and not climb to the best killer with the best sword and die, yes, the police do not come anywhere and arrest anyone during the long stabbings, but all these are conventions that we happily admit and do not prevent ourselves from enjoying such a bright, bloody movie.

I’ve watched both movies for the first time and since then I’ve considered them one of my favorite movies. Since then, I have reviewed them many times and, having done it again, I decided to write this review.
I decided to follow the example of many American film critics and did not consider both parts separately because it does not make any sense.
The plot of the film is divided into chapters and at the same time they are not in chronological order, and only the last chapter in its place, as in an art house. Although this is not an art house, but such a move is more justified than ever.
I really liked the actors in the film, and it would be difficult to imagine anyone else in these roles. And the performers of the main roles and even quite minor ones coped perfectly here. They tried very hard and it feels like it.
In the picture, a lot of attention is paid to combat scenes, both hand-to-hand combat and with the use of cold weapons. I probably have never seen such high-quality fights in any Hollywood movie.
RZA, what are you doing to my ears... the soundtrack in the film is so magnificent that it is impossible to describe the experience in words. We can say that it is very bright, memorable and perfectly fits into the overall atmosphere of the film.
Quentin Tarantino in this film managed to do the virtually impossible, namely to “lay” the Asian action movie in the framework of the Hollywood mainstream. Such a task was only possible for a master like him.
This kind of movie is really shocking and only does it in the good sense of the word. Its atmosphere and quality directing make it almost a modern classic of the genre.
Definitely both parts
Watching this movie, I said to myself, 'This isn't Tarantino, this is someone else.' Not in the bad sense of the word, but vice versa. From the seen eye run away, the film is a real bloody attraction and so on. But why did I say it wasn't Tarantino? Because the style of "Bill" is completely different from the style of his other works.
The storyline, and the structure itself, is reminiscent of old Hong Kong movies with Bruce Lee or other Kung Fu masters. The main character is the bride (her name is not called in the film) and her family became victims of the cruel gang “Lethalous Vipers”, where the heroine herself once entered, because of which she falls into a prolonged coma. Wake up and full of vengeance, she decides to destroy all the members of the gang (of which there are four, plus the main one is Bill). Revenge will be brutal, bloody. Much blood will be shed before the Bride reaches her victims to quench her deadly thirst. And no one will stop her.
What can I say? I can’t call it an ordinary Tarantin film, because the style is not what we used to see before – countless interesting dialogues, revealing characters, unexpected situations and fewer action scenes. Here, maintaining the style of old Hong Kong fighters, Quentin gives us a portion of crazy actions and action.
Forget about long dialogues, there are few. Already the beginning of the film provides us with a brutal fight between two enemies with an unexpected, and at the same time predictable ending. And what the final twenty minutes of the film turn into is a separate topic. The main character, armed with a sharp katana, alone enters into an unequal battle with 88 enemy soldiers. It has everything - blood, violence, screaming, pain. The bride, like a death machine, cuts everyone right to left, cruelly and ruthlessly. And the heroine herself is not a good soul. From the upheavals of the past, she, from a simple killer and a loving person, turns into a cold-blooded avenger. She will go through everything to get to her destination. She doesn't care about pity or anyone else. Such a character is not standard for Tarantino, which is a big plus, the good of Uma Thurman showed herself as she should. Brilliant.
Don't think there's nothing else here but action. Tarantino does not depart from his stereotypes and in the best traditions shows us the way of the ascent of the Bride - awakening, memories, acquiring weapons, the history of other characters, and finally, a bloody fight. The fact that the film is designed in the Japanese style is good - cruelty, anime inserts, heroes - everything coincides.
One thing is sad – such a cruel adventure Tarantino divided into two parts. This part is the first, bloody, crazy and interesting. Tarantino is a genius, he can do it when he wants to. However, such an intriguing ending makes it clear that the adventures of the Bride are yet to come, because not all enemies are killed. We are waiting for the continuation, but for now
The path of revenge is never straight. It's like a forest, and like a forest, it's easy to get lost, to get lost, to forget how you got here.
Quentin Tarantino’s films are a special and unique part of world cinema. They are extolled in masterpieces, lowered to the very bottom, but one thing is for sure - none of them has yet left anyone indifferent.
Kill Bill: Vol. 1 - in my opinion, his best work. Although it is not necessary to separate the second part, which is directly related to the first film, and which, by the way, the director himself considers the pinnacle of his career. They are both unique, unique and brilliant.
Every scene, scene, or moment in this film is a masterpiece. Everything is done with incredible love and respect for their work, the audience and all involved in the project people. The plot is a separate topic that deserves the greatest applause and awards. The story of a woman who did not surrender to circumstances and what it would not cost her to decide to repay a fair debt to her abusers.
You can talk about this film for a very long time, because I did not notice the negative aspects in it at all, and the positive ones are simply not listed. Destroying the tower scenes of battles, correctly staged and worked out, which are remembered for a long time and make them talk. A gorgeous performance of all absolutely involved actors, and of course - music. I can't put it into words. You have to hear it and be involved in it.
Just imbue yourself with the mood of this film and you will understand what the Genius Cinema means.
10 out of 10
Killing Bill became a unique work of Quentin Tarantino, if before he made films about gangsters who loved firearms, now a film about criminals who promote the samurai style of fighting.
20 out of 10 get soundtracks, so I liked them. In one of the interviews, Tarantino said that if you choose the right music for the film, then consider success almost in your pocket, which, indeed, the soundtrack played a very important role, and some episodes of the film are reviewed only because of good music in the background.
The battles are also well staged, but no more, there are still some flaws and lack of smoothness in the movements, although the slaughter in a Japanese restaurant will enter my personal room of the assets of the cinematogrof for a long time, but this is also more due to good music and not the fights staged. Expect more from the final battle, but not at all disappointed by the end of the film and look forward to the second part.
Revenge is a dish served cold.
The peculiarity of the plot is the division into chapters, gives some charm to the film, the plot itself is very excellent. And if I have already said a lot of flattering words about the battle in the restaurant, the rest of the scenes of the film are no worse. It was all very thoughtful and we end up with a great movie about repaying old debts.
She deserves revenge and we deserve to die. Budd
The second part should answer all the questions and pay back all the debts of our avenger Uma Thurman, who played her role very well, liked and Lucy Liu other roles were not so noticeable. I think the film is worth watching, because it’s Tarantino’s own film, which means a thoughtful plot and great soundtracks, what else do you need to be happy? And the answers to all the remaining questions we will learn in the second part, which you will definitely see if you watched the first.
Good movie.
I recently watched this film for the second time and I think I can draw my own conclusions.
The conclusions will be disappointing. To begin with, I don’t think Tarantino is a genius. I would even call him a talent with a stretch. Just a man with his own special vision for cinema, who, in his own way, remained in the history of cinema with his two films and a quarter. I mean "Reservoir Dogs", "Pulp Fiction" (delight about which I also do not share). Just “shot out” at the right moment, shooting a movie in several novels, where the “key moment” is the inverse ratio of cruelty on the screen to the fun of music) and one of the novels in the collection “Four Rooms”.
A film about revenge. The film is about how Bill’s gang decided to get even with the Bride (her name we do not know), who decided to “retire,” right during the wedding. She survived and began to search for her killers individually.
Original? Banal? I kind of do. American modern cinema is not at all original scripts. I’ve long since concluded that it’s about “realization.” And if "Reservoir Dogs" was a story about a group of gangsters who committed a robbery that ended in failure. They take turns to decide which of them is the rat. Perfectly masculine, brutal cinema. With a bunch of textured characters. I have already said about “Pulp Fiction”. The film was in the right place at the right time, brought something (nothing revolutionary, of course) new to the cinema, drowning under the onslaught of the same type of police fighters. What about the movie "Kill Bill"?
By the very "realization" of the idea, the film is certainly not bad. Not perfect. It has the right music. It is the “suitable” – it has long been known that in most of Tarantino’s films, the music is skillfully twisted from other films and just individual works. There is some unconventionality of execution. Surprised and such phenomena as “flashback” and “voice”. Things that almost certainly lead to failure by generally accepted standards of cinema. Here it has some ground under it. Although I agree with "universities" - explanations in the form of voiceover - this is a sign of "non-intellectuality" of the work.
I read in an article that Tarantino wanted to pay homage to his favorite yakuza movies. The next one is Inglourious Bastards (a film that is completely empty and causes nothing but irritation). And certainly not talented. . . . he thanks again . . now there are movies about the Nazis. He went on to mock horror movies in the Grandhouse project. And here is a film about “Django”, where he once again “thanks” the films of the genre “Western”. However, from the good old American films, he failed to take long plans and thorough editing. Screened movie like the vast majority of handicrafts from the United States – torn “clip” editing, which is very annoying.
So I would like to ask – Mr. Tarantino, you will please us with your films ORIGINAL or will endlessly surprise us with your “reshoots” of other people’s films, doing it under the guise of “paying respect”. And I would recommend that Quentin stop making opportunistic movies in the hope of getting a major Oscar or something cooler. And stop filming the bloody mess to cheerful music. We already know you're a master at this. Keep moving forward, dear.
And also explain - why the mace Go-Go from the first blow breaks the table, almost 10 cm thick, and during the second hits the Bride and leaves only a scratch?
7 out of 10 and a positive review. I don't know why. At least unlike "Bastards" in this film at least there is a "highlight" of some kind.
Storyline: A heroine named “the bride” wakes up in a clinic after four years of coma. She used to be a killer working for a man named Bill. But she decided to retire and she was pregnant. Only her plans could not be fulfilled. Bill tracked her down with the Death Vipers and killed everyone at the wedding, including her unborn child. Now she wants revenge.
Quentin Tarantino is one of the most famous and popular directors. He is famous for his "Mad Dogs" and "Pulp Fiction." The fourth film I was looking forward to. As a result, unknowing people received an action movie with elements of drama. Still, the initiates received a beautiful black comedy - an action movie and a parody of films about samurai. There's not even a single shootout in the whole movie. Everything is decided by swords. The bride wields a beautiful sword, cutting everyone into various small pieces. Many, when the film came out, reproached him for excessive cruelty. But it's Tarantino's calling card to pour ketchup blood wherever you can. Uma Thurman is great. Without pity, without sympathy, kills anyone who gets in her way. Traditionally, Tarantino's films have a beautifully matched soundtrack. The music of "Lonely Shepard", "The Grand Duel" and the song "Bang, Bang" perfectly reinforce the atmosphere of the film. Perhaps the main disadvantage of the film is the division into two parts. The first one is still alive.
The verdict: watch all Tarantino fans, and just fans of well-made films.
I don’t like more blood and meat in movies. If there is nothing there but this outrage, I will not look. Therefore, when a long time ago, after watching the trailer for the film, and seeing what Uma Thurman is doing with a katana, I thought, trash and blood, I’d rather see some old-fashioned action movie. That's what I thought until I saw the director. Oh, Tarantino. That makes sense. For he, in addition to blood and his favorite word “fuck”, invests great energy in the creation of his paintings, they have some nothing, but the plot, he loves and unexpected turns in the narrative. Tarantino is a director working on style and its maintenance. So I still decided to watch Kill Bill, albeit very late from the day of the premiere.
Plot. You can't just quit your job. You can't get away with it. Especially a job like the main character. Black Mamba is not a hairdresser, an accountant, or even a “big boss” businesswoman. She's a professional killer. Even colleagues in the workshop, although they do not like her, but speak of her as the best in their field. However, the heroine abandons this ungrateful business, crushing people in vain, and runs away to spend the rest of her life in peace and forget her past. But the past does not want to forget about it. It returns in the person of former lover Bill, with the whole team of killers in addition. Bill and the company are doing their dirty business, killing the Bride and everyone else in the vicinity. True, they did not calculate a little, the Bride was truly the best, we can say returned from the dead and now craves revenge. To do this, they pick up their favorite katana and go to kill.
Spectacular. It's Tarantino. It's rivers of blood sprinkling fountains. This is necessarily the image of an incredibly cool hero (in this film-heroine), who will do everything to this very blood was even more. No wonder so much fake blood was used. But this is all, so to speak, the cost of style. I may not be a connoisseur of martial arts with swords and generally cold weapons. But I really liked the sword fights. Made beautifully and tastefully. The bride is truly merciless and terrifying. "Dancing Blade" is no different.
And a separate theme of the film is the Japanese tradition in the film. Tarantino managed to lure real Japanese people to the set, to whose advice he listened and adjusted the script. Thanks to these very traditions, he even released an alternative version of the film, especially for Japan, and, as far as I know, it received high praise there.
9 out of 10
Quentin Tarantino is one of the most talented directors in the world. Each of his films, I emphasize, each hides a deep, sometimes even philosophical meaning. Of course, his films are perceived in different ways: one film may seem like a good crime drama, the other - a powerful action movie. But all these films are connected by stylistics, which is a special philosophical subtext. Even the iconic film Kill Bill, despite its original action movie genre, also conveys a certain meaning, namely "revenge is a dish served cold."
Plot
The main character wakes up after a 4-year stay in a deep coma - a coma in which she fell due to the fact that her friend shot her in the head. But in addition to the fact that this shot took the heroine four years of her life, he also took away her unborn child. Unwilling to sit for a minute, the heroine embarks on her long and dangerous journey to commit her cruel and bloody revenge on all those who took her dearest.
Director
People who haven’t seen Kill Bill may doubt the quality of the film, because Quentin Tarantino has only practiced crime drama before, and there are no action films on his account. But make no mistake about Quentin, because despite his first experience in the action genre, he showed himself in such a way that he made similar films for more than twenty years. Quentin did not stint on cruelty and action, so the film charges a huge dose of adrenaline. And I liked that he shot the battle scenes as the audience would like to see them. That is, if the viewer wants the hero to cut the villain in half, the hero will do so. Or if the viewer wants the heroine to know nothing but cruelty and violence, believe me, she will not spare anyone.
Scenario
The very fact that the script is written by Quentin Tarantino guarantees a great work, which is reflected in the plot of the film. The film is full of dialogues and monologues, and, as is the case with Tarantino, logically built and fascinating. In general, as mentioned earlier, there are enough monologues in the film in which the main character talks about the characters of the film, whom she revenged or is going to take revenge on. The stories about the heroes were very liked, since their content is not banal, but informative and even dramatic. By the way, like Tarantino, the episodes of the film are not in order.
Game of actors
Now let’s touch on such a detail of the film as acting. Uma Thurman for the well-performed part of a woman who lost an unborn child certainly deserves an Academy Award. Of course, we can assume that the role of the killer, played in the action movie, will not present the actor as a professional. However, remember that the film was directed by Quentin Tarantino, which, in turn, determines the huge number of dialogues in which, of course, the main character participated. Uma Turman showed herself in these dialogues as a real dramatic actress.
Operation of the operator
I would especially like to praise Robert Richardson for his amazing camera work. I loved the fact that Robert Richardson didn’t stray from the old ways of filming, which made the film more intense and emotional. Of such techniques were the approach of the frame, especially liked the reception of the camera’s non-departing angle, when the main character went to the toilet, and the camera did not go away from her. Words can not convey, but it looks beautiful.
Installation
Sally Menke is one of the most brilliant editors in the history of cinema and, moreover, one of the most talented. Of course, not being able to see the film in the desired version, since the editor and the task is to make the final version, she managed to cut the film with such professionalism that thanks to her work, “Kill Bill” looks in one breath and it is impossible to break away from the screen. It is also worth commending for the elaboration of individual scenes and episodes: somewhere slow scene, somewhere in black and white format, somewhere the frame is cut into parts - in general, the editing is amazing.
Soundtrack
Despite the fact that the film did not have a specific composer, the musical accompaniment he had, and it was perfect for action. This is the merit of the American DJ RZA, who managed to pick up a variety of musical compositions, which consisted of tracks borrowed from other films and just old songs. In turn, borrowed consisted of musical compositions Ennio Morricone, which sounded in the famous Westerns with Clint Eastwood. Agree that the music of Ennio Morricone, and even from the Western, sounding in the action movie on the theme of oriental martial arts, creates the necessary tense atmosphere and infects a huge adrenaline.
Sound and sound editing
It’s funny to write about it, but even the soundtrack was perfect. The sounds of metal, crunchy bones, falling heads, screams were charged with such adrenaline that there was an irrepressible desire to become the hero of the film.
Result
In my opinion, “Kill Bill” is the perfect action movie, which, for sure, will appeal to any viewer. In it you will find a great twisted plot, and stunning spectacular fighting scenes, and excellent acting. Those who love tin in movies will not be disappointed in this film, because, believe me, it is full of blood.

Extraordinary, often beyond common sense, films of Quentin Tarantino, however, transform cinema for the better, often changing our perception.
In the past, an experienced hitman, and now a pregnant bride, is preparing for the upcoming wedding. In her life there is a man from the past – Bill. He and his companions ruthlessly deal with all the guests, and the Black Mamba, as she is called, miraculously manages to survive. It would seem that we have not seen here - bloody sword battles, a story of revenge, battles of assassins. But this film goes beyond the usual limits. Tarantino’s use of a variety of directorial techniques, violent scenes of violence and interesting but daring ideas sets this story apart from many others. Events happen in our world, in our time, but are perceived in a special way. An interesting acquaintance with the ancient Eastern culture, the skill of creating weapons, music, can not leave indifferent. As if torn from reality, but deeply embedded in the memory of the heroes – this is one of the foundations of success. The film is designed for a more adult audience, given the large number of scenes of violence. You need to see with your own eyes the trials and suffering that the heroine of Uma Thurman had to endure.
To have the effect on the film industry that we’ve seen, this film had to come out this way — bold and brutal. This and many other things make it very special.
Her goal is revenge. To its goal it will go to the end. There will be many obstacles in her way, but she will overcome them for the sake of a single goal that now moves her. She is a blonde bride who was the victim of a bloody massacre at her own wedding.
Kill Bill is one of the most famous and definitely one of the best films of master Quentin Tarantino. Over the years of his career, he was able to create his own genre of cinema. In this genre, he is the best of the best, and will remain so forever. His style of filming cannot be confused with any other. He is unique, and that is his strength. When Tarantino first began to work as a director, he hardly expected that he would ever become so famous and popular around the world. And all thanks to the fact that he did not need to listen to anyone on the set, as he created his own cinema and created his masterpieces according to his own scripts. It's not given to everyone. Quentin Tarantino was able to reach unprecedented heights in cinema, relying on his own vision of this or that scene, he saw everything in his light, and it was great. In the 90s, he was able to shoot his “Reservoir Dogs” and “Pulp Fiction” before moving on to the immortal “Kill Bill”.
As always, Tarantino worked in his repertoire. This film did not have a linear plot, which helped to feel its atmosphere. Due to the division of the picture into chapters, everything looked very interesting and fascinating. Each chapter had its own handwriting. Well, the anime was perfect. This combination of styles is rarely found in such films, but here it was not just appropriate, but perfectly fit into the picture.
One of the main advantages for me was that in this film there was a great emphasis on Asian combat films. Battles on samurai swords, hand-to-hand combat and just beautiful visual design played a very big role in the film, because without them there would not be what happened in the end.
Not the last role was in the soundtrack. RZA definitely worked to fame, as the music blended perfectly with what was happening on the screen. Just a hell of a mixture!
Without attention can not leave a great cast. Everyone who participated in the film did a great job. Everyone played their characters well.
This film is a great example of the work of Quentin Tarantino. "To kill Bill." Film 1 is a well-designed film that was, remains and will be among the best.
Do not stand in the way of a woman seeking revenge.
The film “Kill Bill” by Quentin Tarantino was doomed to cultism from the very beginning, because the famous director did not shoot anything new since the film “Jackie Brown” in 1997, which for some reason passed unnoticed. “Kill Bill” is a very stylized Chinese and Japanese tapes (mostly action films and thrillers) work that tells the story of the hired killer Black Mamba (Uma Thurman), whose wedding turned into a bloody massacre, the culprit of which was someone Bill, her employer from a gang of killers. Waking up after a four-year coma, the Black Mamba begins to take revenge with sophistication and cruelty.
The first stunning element of the film is its clear and brilliant stylization. Each frame and mise-en-scene quietly quote the classics of Asian cinema, the musical accompaniment is ideal for the video. Robert Richardson’s camera work in the film is so ingeniously beautiful that the film gives considerable aesthetic pleasure even in the violent scenes in Kill Bill. Volume 1 is enough, because they are filmed in a typical thrash manner. The scene in a Japanese restaurant in general is a real masterpiece, which has become the hallmark of the picture.
The second element of the film that delighted me was a script full of typically Tarantinian black humor and brilliant dialogue with really catchy phrases. Honed dialogue became one of the decorations of this picture.
And finally, the third thing that struck me in the film is the acting. Uma Thurman, the muse of the great Tarantino, played her best role in the zero years in this picture. Black Mamba is both a beautiful and dangerous goddess of revenge. Lucy Liu also perfectly superimposed on the image painted by Tarantino, creating a bright and brutal heroine. I remember the character of Sonny Chiba, who became in the first part of the film one of the key characters in the plot.
"To kill Bill." Volume 1 is a classic story of revenge and hatred, the struggle for survival and the return of old debts.
So, if you like hard and real action movies, Kill Bill. Volume 1 You should not miss it.
As much as I praise horror movies, my favorite movie is Kill Bill. I want to go beyond my usual reviews to convey all my feelings about this film.
I first saw this movie at the age of 8. There was a lot I didn’t understand at the time, and most of the story was completely incomprehensible to me. I didn't understand why my aunt was sitting in her car and couldn't move, why my aunt had killed a lot of people, and so on. Now, once again reviewing both films, I could not help but write this review.
It’s hard to explain why this movie is so important to me. Maybe it's a brilliant soundtrack, which contains energetic and beautiful music, maybe it's a stunning acting game. The minds of Thurman and the rest of the actors may be due to the excellent camera work, in which the shooting is conducted from unusual, but very convenient angles. Despite all the unusual plot, I like this film to the core, and it is not surprising.
I'm not going to talk about it, I'm just going to put it.
10 out of 10
The reason I saw this movie is simple: Tarantino. His unique black humor, interesting plot, unusual way of narrating - that's what I was waiting for. Did this film meet my expectations? Yes, yes, and again yes! Moreover, I could not imagine that I would watch an action movie, where there are so many “Eastern” elements with such interest.
The plot is very simple: a survivor of terrible events, a girl decides to take revenge on her abusers. There are many obstacles, enemies, blood and death in her path, but she stops at nothing, turning from a grazing angel to a ruthless killer. It has the right to revenge, even its enemies recognize it.
But even despite the fact that the films on this topic were shot a lot & #39; Kill Bill & #39; can not be compared with any of them. And all because of the original Tarantine ways to stand out. This time it is black and white shots, worked out details and even anime. But the most important thing is that completely different cinematic techniques are so harmoniously combined with each other that sometimes it is impossible to take your eyes away from the screen.
Don’t expect this movie to be 100% real. It’s not about how much fake blood resembles living blood or how much a severed leg looks like a real one. The picture in the film is not necessarily reality. This is the fantasy world of its creator-director. The main thing is the idea and here it is. And it should be real and close to the viewer. The line between good and evil is very unstable and often contrary to instructions ' turn the cheek' we pay evil with its own coin. We give ourselves the right to revenge when we deserve it. This is what Tarantino is saying.
Everyone will get their emotions from watching this movie. But for myself, I learned one thing: never before has revenge been so spectacular, fascinating and... tasty. Revenge is a dish that is served cold.
No doubt
“When fate smiles at something as cruel and ugly as revenge, it proves more than anything that God exists, that you are doing His will.” - The bride.
Quentin Tarantino has repeatedly proved that he can shoot high-quality and stylish films. It was thanks to him that we saw “Reservoir Dogs” and “Pulp Fiction”, which in our time have become classics. Unfortunately, the premiere of both parts of Kill Bill passed my eye. I didn’t want to see this movie until after Inglourious Bastards. You know, it’s quite difficult to review one of the two parts, as they together make up a single composition, but I’ll try.
Plot: An elite hit squad breaks into their colleague's wedding and kills every single one of them. Only the Bride, one of the best assassins in the world, remains alive. She goes into a coma for four years. When she wakes up, she begins to hunt her former partners and the leader of the unit - Bill.
The plot is a "collection hodgepodge" of kung fu films of the 70s. Cliche, borrowing and thrashing are the main features of the film. Unfortunately, our audience will not be as interesting as the Western. In Europe, there were completely different kung fu symbols. David Carradine and Sonny Chiba are not as well known to our viewers as Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan, but they have gained cult status in America. However, you will receive your portion of nostalgia in full.
It is worth mentioning that throughout the film, blood will beat with a fountain, and severed limbs will fly everywhere. Violence and cynicism permeate every scene and dialogue of the film. I don’t recommend watching a movie with kids.
Actors and Characters: As Tarantino’s films should, Kill Bill has a great cast. They are very harmonious with their heroes. It was nice to see Michael Parks in the movie.
As for the main character, in my opinion Uma Thurman coped well, but nothing more. Her character is not as interesting as the secondary ones. All of Tarantino's films did not have clearly defined main characters, and because of this, all the characters were interesting and memorable. And the Bride looks like a host who only takes us through interesting events and introduces us to the main characters.
The other characters are brilliant. Whether it's a rapist nurse or schoolgirl bodyguard O-Ran, they're all 100% exposed. As the plot progresses, we find the good sides in all the main villains and subconsciously justify them. And the main character begins to see from the dark side. Only Tarantino could do that.
Directing: What I love about Quentin’s films is his unique style. Once you watch his film, you can immediately tell that it was directed by Tarantino.
In Kill Bill, he used tricks that he would repeat in Proof of Death. The transition from color to black and white and back, long plans, the effect of catching the film and some surrealism make the film a guide for directors.
I also really liked O-Ran’s anime backstory. Cruel and dramatic animation will be remembered for a long time.
Outcome: If you like Tarantino’s movies, you’ll definitely love this movie. I can’t make a complete film based on the first one. But if you want to immediately start watching the second part after watching Kill Bill, it says a lot. And I had this desire immediately after the beginning of the closing credits.
9 out of 10
For me, this film is the embodiment of style, taste, drive and talent.
I, a fan of Quentin Tarantino, consider the first and second parts of “Kill Bill” the best of his creation (at the moment).
The plot revolves around a tall blonde with sharp, memorable facial features. She is a cruel person who enjoys killing and torturing enemies. She is a mother separated from her child, betrayed by her lover. The image of what to say is contradictory. But it is sympathetic because there are no innocents in this fight. The blonde went to fight with the same scum and murderers. Their world is a cruel world.
The plot isn't that complicated. The thing is, how Quentin designed, played the story of the bloody bride.
Costumes, stylization of Japanese comics, then American Western (already in the second part). Music... Music is a separate subject. Soundtracks are selected perfectly, they stimulate the imagination of the viewer, wind it up, create an atmosphere, complement the overall picture. Music plays, actors play, the action itself plays a game started by a blonde.
Just a song, not a movie. The eye rejoices even during bloody scenes, the good they are properly served. It will not be scary, it will be beautiful and energetic.
MUst-see.
Evaluating this film by Tarantino is difficult. Because he's quite unusual. There is no specific genre and sequence. But I will try.
Chapter one.
If a man loves what he does. And he does it for a long time, diligently, investing his soul and this man Quentin Tarantino, then not just a good film is born. A masterpiece is born. It happened this time. Still, no matter what you say, and “Kill Bill” will not leave anyone indifferent.
Chapter two.
After years of "simple," Quentin is filming his new painting. It is very different from the director’s earlier films. No, the blood and violence haven't gone away. Dialogue is fine, too. This is different. Perception. We see this movie differently. Not like Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs. Tarantino’s unique style remains. And even more so, it is evolving.
Quentin puts something special in every part of the film, in every second of it, that you will not see in other directors. Somewhere, you need to insert a delightful musical sketch, somewhere relaxing, relaxed dialogue, and somewhere spectacular and bloody action scene. And it all looks great, one by one. Most importantly, he is never wrong in his choice. Every little thing he has worked out, it causes respect.
Chapter three.
The plot was painstakingly written. Quentin made the characters of his film unique. Alive... As alive as in everything in the same "Reading" and "Psach". It is impossible not to believe them, they live in the cinema, they are, they are real. Tarantino has always succeeded.
Of course, there are moments in “Kill Bill” that cause a smile: well, how the heroine of Uma Thurman can almost run on walls, cutting 88 rabid. Yes, it can't, but nobody talks about realism. This is a fantasy about revenge.
Chapter four.
The fact that Tarantino all the actors play great, we all already knew, and if someone did not know, he guessed it. Quentin took some proven fighters (Uma Thurman, Michael Madsen and even Samuel L. Jackson got a piece) and added other stars to them. What is David Curradine worth? He also invited Sonia Chiba and others. Full order, here all the acting skills showed great.
Chapter five.
The last battle.
Anyway, good Bill, damn good, but he had to be killed. Black Mamba, aka Biatrix Kiddo, loved him very much, no matter what he did to her. In the final scene, she broke notes of hatred and revenge. But as soon as Bill spoke, they melted before his eyes, turning into pain. It was hard for her to kill a man with whom she had lived for a very long time, whom she extolled to heaven, for whom she was ready to kill. In addition, Biatrix learns that her daughter is alive. Life goes on, you just have to take the last step - kill Bill.
There were 5 names on the death list. The ruthless killer was ready to take revenge. To do it slowly, because, Bill himself said, “Revenge is a dish that should be served cold.”
A carnage in a restaurant, a showdown at home and a murder in front of a child. We saw all this in the first part of the film. In which the emphasis was placed on the recklessness of what was happening. In the second film, everything becomes more measured and calm, the usual dialogues appear. Two other names are deleted from the list. Budd, once again in his life, did something very mean. But still, to his credit, he admitted that the Black Mamba deserved revenge. At least in words (Bravo to Michael Madsen) And Ellie Driver, who wasn't killed, but she's been maimed for the rest of her life. Uma Thurman walked like a hurricane on his targets.
Chapter six.
The music in Kill Bill is amazingly good. It gives a special atmosphere. Whether it's Quentin's favorite Japanese samurai fighters or Mexican westerns. Ennio Morricone is in trouble. Other compositions are also great. Tarantino always knew a lot about music.
Cinematography is unique. The pro's handwriting is recognized.
The last chapter.
Summary.
“Kill Bill” is a film in which a lot of things are planned, events are intertwined in time. A great story that will not leave anyone indifferent. A film made by the genius of modern cinema.

Quentin Tarantino, the favorite of the audience of the 90s returned to the cinema after the failure of his previous film, and his return was triumphant, the audience was able to master as many as 2 parts of his new creation. For many, this was a feat, because Quentin’s films have always been distinguished by a large amount of blood, here cruelty is elevated to a certain limit, fake blood is poured on the screen in the best traditions of Hong Kong cinema. At the same time, this cruelty is perceived by the modern generation quite calmly, not even thanks to vaccinations from watching “saw-183” and a similar genre, but because all the violence in Tarantino is not quite serious, in the middle of a fight against a couple of hundred samurai, the Bride allows herself to slap on the soft spot of the failed opponent, and then again begin to chop legs and heads left and right. And at the same time, unlike numerous militants and horror films, murder and blood here, as later in “Sin City” of Tarantino’s friend Robert Rodriguez, is part of a quite clear aesthetic system of the world. The viewer is only fascinated to watch the show that plays in front of him the director and his actors. Perhaps this is the genius of Quentin Tarantino. Original
