Evgeny Markovich Tatarsky was born on September 10, 1938 in Leningrad. In 1956-1957 he studied at the Leningrad Hydrometeorological Institute, then worked as a handyman at the Leningrad Film Studio of Popular Science Films. The director made his debut with the film “Fire in the wing, or Feat in the ice”, and he was widely known for the detective film “Golden Mine” released in 1977, in which the main roles were played by Oleg Dahl, Lyubov Polishchuk, Evgeny Kindinov.Evgeny Tatarsky expected even greater success after the release of the television film “The Adventures of Prince Florizel” (“Suicide Club”), based on the works of R.-L. Stevenson and marked by brilliant acting works of Oleg Dahl, Donatas Banionischuk, Igor Potriev, and other beautiful artists.
The director remained faithful to the adventure theme in the future, putting a few years later on the detective novel by Stanislav Romov the television film Charlotte's Ring.
From the latest works of Evgeny Tatarsky, one can note the film “Blood Drinkers” and the crime-love drama “Prison Romance” filmed on the basis of real events with Marina Neelova and Alexander Abdulov in the lead roles. The director also participated in the creation of the popular series “Menta”.
