Yuri Demich is an honored artist of the RSFSR, a famous Russian actor of theater and cinema. In his filmography there are almost fifty wonderful roles. These are the famous paintings “Not a day without adventure”, “Killed in the line”, “Breath of a thunderstorm”, “Way to yourself”,
"Man from the Black Volga" and others.
He was born on August 18, 1948 in Magadan, in a family of actors. His father Alexander Ivanovich worked as an artist at the Yermolova Theatre. At the age of eighteen, Yuri graduated from the studio at the Maxim Gorky Theater in Kuibyshev and was enrolled in GITIS. Demich worked in the Kuibyshev Theater named after Maxim Gorky, then in the Leningrad Big Drama Theater.
In BDT, Demich played his best roles in performances: Last Summer in Chulimsk, Quiet Don, Pickwick Club, We the Undersigned and Amadeus. But in 1987, the actor was fired, accused of being drunk on stage. He said he wasn't drunk that day, he just wasn't feeling well. After the death of the main director of the theater Georgy Tovstonogov, the artist wanted to return to Leningrad, but the new head of the theater Kirill Lavrov then refused him. Yuri Alexandrovich returned to Moscow and began to drink often.
In the winter of 1990, Yuri Alexandrovich went on tour around the country. Then he cleaned himself up, looked healthy and hardly drank. On December 19, a tragedy occurred at night. He suddenly started bleeding heavily due to ruptured veins of the esophagus. The actor lost a lot of blood and went to the hospital. The doctors couldn't save his life. On December 22, Demic fell into a coma, and two days later, on Monday, December 24, 1990, he died.
Demich was married twice. From his first marriage, he had a son, Alexander, who later became an actor. The second wife - actress Tatiana Lyukshinova lived with Yuri Alexandrovich until the end of his days. The actor was buried in Moscow at the Vagankovo cemetery. /
