I was born in the village of Starobin. The actress with a difficult fate and immeasurable talent stood up on her own, losing her father during the repression. At the age of 16, she moved to Minsk, where she worked as a housekeeper. A little later, fate smiled at her, giving her the chance to become an actress - she entered the studio of the First Belarusian Drama Theater. At the same time, she took the pseudonym "Galina" instead of her native name Agatha, and also changed the name inherited from the repressed father.
Galina Klimentyevna was a versatile person. In her youth she showed her talents in the field of extreme sports, embroidery, javelin throwing, etc. In 1937, she even managed to win the title of champion of the Republic in motocross.
As an actress, Galina Makarova first showed herself in 1954, when she played the role of Maria in the production of A. Makaenka’s play “Sorry, Please!”. Her talent was noticed by many figures of theatrical art, including the playwright, who wrote plays especially for her.
In 1958, Makarova got on TV screens, appearing in the image of Alexandra Gromova.
