Born November 13, 1947 in Kherson (Ukraine). There he also graduated from the music school in the violin class. In 1976 he graduated from GITIS (now RATI), master V.A. Andreev. As a student, he began acting in films. The film debut was the main role in the film “The Secret of the Partisan Dugout”. In 1981, for the main role in the film “Serving the Fatherland”, he was awarded the prize for Best Actor at the All-Union Film Festival in Vilnius. Born November 13, 1947 in Kherson (Ukraine). There he also graduated from the music school in the violin class. In 1976 he graduated from GITIS (now RATI), master V.A. Andreev. As a student, he began acting in films. The film debut was the main role in the film “The Secret of the Partisan Dugout”. In 1981, for the main role in the film “Serving the Fatherland”, he was awarded the prize for Best Actor at the All-Union Film Festival in Vilnius. Since 1976 he played at the Stanislavsky Moscow Drama Theatre. He was engaged in famous performances “The Threshold” based on the play by A. Dudarev, “Cyrano de Bergerac” E. Rostana, also “Farewell in June” by A. Vampilov, “Two Veronets” by V. Shakespeare, “Cunning and Love” by F. Schiller and others.
Since 1992 he has been teaching at the Institute of Contemporary Art (ISI). He is the artistic director of the theater-studio "Cinema and theater actors" (A.K.T.) In 2001, together with Mexican director Sergio Olkhovich, he opened the Russian-Mexican Institute of Art, Film and Theatre in Mexico City (Mexico).
Timofei Spivak was born on November, 13 1947 in Kherson (USSR, Ukraine). He was educated at musical school (violin). In 1976 he graduated from The Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (GITIS) where he studied under Vladimir Andreev. His debut in cinema became the lead role in the movie 'Tayna partizanskoy zemlynki' (Mystery of a Partizan Dug-Out) in 1974. In 1981 at the Soviet Union Film Festival he won an award for his leading role in the film ' Sluzha otechestvu' (The Job of Parenthood, informal literal title). He also worked at the Moscow Stanislavski drama theater. He appeared in well-known plays 'Porog' (Threshold) by Aleksej Dudarev, 'Sirano de Berzherak' by Edmond Rostand, and also 'Dva verontsa' (The two Gentlemen of Verona) by William Shakespeare, 'Kovarstvo i ljubov' (Kabale und liebe) by Friedrich Schiller, 'Prochanie vjune' (Filwell) etc.
In 1992 Timofei Spivak became a teacher at the Moscow Institute of Modern Art. He is the head of Arts at the drama school 'Actors of cinema and theater' (A.K.T.). In 2001, together with a Mexican director Sergio Olhovich he opened The Russian-Mexican Institute of Art, Cinema and Theatre named after Sergei Eisenstein.
