Igor Klass, a famous theater and film actor, director, was born on November 26, 1939. Igor Klass spent his youth on the Riga seaside, where he worked as a rescuer and sailor at one of the water stations from seventeen years old. In 1958, he studied at the navigator department of the Navigation School of Riga. Then he studied at the acting faculty of LGITMIKA, which he graduated in 1965, and in 1966 he completed his studies at the director's faculty.
Igor Klass became an actor of the Tobolsk Theater in 1966, and the following year he got a job as a director at the Abakan Drama Theater. In the seventies he had to work as a driver and photographer, as well as participate in the creation of television programs.
Igor Klass began acting in films in his student years. His first major role Class played in 1965. In the film “Conspiracy of Ambassadors” he played the role of Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky. The following year, Igor Klass starred in the film “The Last Scammer”, where he played a traffic sergeant, and in the film “Do not shoot in the 26th” – Brecht.
In 1967, Class participated in the film “Blown Hell”, in 1969 – in the film “The Road Home” and in “Apples of the forty-first year”. The young actor was in great demand. He played mostly foreigners, fascists or criminals.
In 1970, Igor Klass starred in two films “It was the month of May” (the role of Avdiev) and “Sport, Sport, Sport” (Ivan the Terrible), the following year he was busy in four films: “The Tomb of the Lion”, “Sing a Song, a Poet”, “Check on the Roads” and “Treasure Island”.
In 1972, Class took part in the film “We have no time to wait”, and in 1973 – in the films “Two days of alarm” and “Comrade General – Shlyago”, in 1974 he starred in “The Only Road” and “Smuggling”.
Igor Klass played Zubov in “Ar-hi-meda”, Ogorodnikov in the film “The Unknown Soldier”, Don Quixote in “Jump”, Lieutenant Colonel Ruderer in “Battle for Moscow” and other heroes of the films.
After 1996 in the acting career of Igor Klass there was a break until 2001, when he starred in
The Master of the Empire . Then again a break until 2007 and the role of Shalamov in old age in the film “Lenin’s Testament”. Along with filming in the cinema, Igor Klass worked as a theater director, and his performances enjoyed deserved popularity among the audience.
