Geert Yakovlev made his debut with a role in the play “Date” by Rouge Robber and after that became one of the most popular actors in his theater. Girt is often called a master of reincarnation. He played famous characters-heroes of the world classics, and ordinary people in small productions.
Geert was also a popular actor in the cinema, he was very much filmed. Films with his participation are “Time has chosen us”, and “Race of the century”, and “Last flight of “Albatross”, and “Front behind the front line”, and “Farewell to St. Petersburg”. One of his most successful roles is the role of Strauss in the film “Farewell to St. Petersburg”. In addition to acting, from 1987 until 1992, he headed the Society of Theaters in Latvia.
