In May 1891, Mikhail Afanasyevich Bulgakov was born. This event took place in Kiev, where the curator of the city is the archangel Michael, who prompted happy parents Afanasy Ivanovich and Varvara Mikhailovna (in the former – Pokrovskaya) name for the newborn.
