Linda Carroll Hamilton was born in Maryland, Salisbury on September 26, 1956. At the age of five, Linda lost her father (he died in a car accident), her mother soon married for a second time. Suffering over a sister like her eventually led to Linda's manic-depressive syndrome, for which she did not begin treatment until after the age of 30. Although Linda never dreamed of a career as an actress, she actively participated in theater productions at school. After graduating from high school, Linda continued her studies at a college in Washington and then in New York at the Lee Strasberg Institute. In 1979, she moved to California to work in television. Her film debut took place in 1982 in the film “Game of Murder”. Success came to Linda after playing the role of Sarah Connor in James Cameron’s sensational fantastic thriller The Terminator. Even more success brought her the sequel to “Terminator 2: Judgment Day”.

Linda Hamilton was married twice, both times unsuccessfully. In 1989, she broke up with her first husband Bruce Abbott, from whom Linda had a son, Dalton. She was married to Terminator director James Cameron for two years. This marriage broke up in 1999, from the second marriage Linda has a daughter Josephine. Linda Hamilton currently lives with her children in her Malibu home. She shoots a lot, in her spare time she watches her favorite football and rides horses.
