Soviet and Russian theater and film actor, producer, winner of the prize "Golden Aries" in the nomination "Best Producer of the Year" and winner of the State Prize of Russia Leonid Yarmolnik was born on January 22, 1954 in the city of Grodekovo (Primorsky Krai). Then Yarmolnik's family moved to Lviv, where he graduated from school - here he came fascinated with literature and theater - and began to play in the theater studio at the Lenin Komsomol People's Theater. By the way, in school Yarmolnik for round glasses and long hair was nicknamed Lennon.
Entry immediately after graduation to the Leningrad Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinema was unsuccessful. And the next year he became a student of the Moscow Theatre School named after Shchukin, one of his friends at that time was Alexander Abdulov, who studied at GITIS. After graduation, and it happened in 1976, Yarmolnik was enrolled in the troupe of the Taganka Theatre, where Yuri Lyubimov immediately offered the aspiring actor a role in the production of "Mother and Margarita". Around the same time, Leonid played the role of Theophilus, the spoiled son of Baron Munchausen in the film by Mark Zakharov.
