Maria Barabanova - People's Artist of Russia and Honored Artist of the RSFSR - was born on November 3, 1911. She since childhood was a mischief, for pranks her with enviable constancy expelled from school. Already at the age of 16, she entered the troupe of the Proletkult Theater, and after that she became an actress of the Leningrad Youth Theater. The next place of her work was the Leningrad Comedy Theater, in which she came after graduating from the Leningrad Theater College.
In the movie Mary debuted in comedy
"Girl in a hurry for a date" . Then there were her works in the films “Arinka” and “Doctor Kalyuzhny”.
During the Great Patriotic War, Barabanova, together with the Gorky film studio, was evacuated to Stalinabad (the modern name is Dushanbe). At the same time, the troupe of the Leningrad Comedy Theater was in Almaty and the living conditions of the actors there were very difficult. Having learned about this, Barabanova went straight to the Central Committee of Tajikistan and achieved the transfer of Leningrad residents to Stalinabad.
Drabanova has repeatedly had to play male roles. An example of this is her work (here she starred in two main roles at once!) in the film adaptation of M. Twain’s novel “The Prince and the Beggar” in 1942. It is also known about her public activity: in 1945 she became the head of the party organization of the Gorky film studio. This should be remembered if only because at this time she closely cared for the young Vasily Shukshin, helping to develop his talent.
The next “unfeminine” role of Barabanova was the role of the Cat in boots in the film of the same name. In 1964, she made her debut as a director.
film "All for You" . In recent years, the actress played a whole constellation of fairy-tale heroines in fairy tale films.
"How Ivanushka the fool walked after a miracle" "While the clock strikes", "After the rain on Thursday", "Nightingale", "Finist - Clear Falcon". And her voice was spoken by many heroes of Soviet cartoons.
Maria Barabanova died on March 16, 1993. /
