Vladimir Yakovlevich Balon was born on February 23, 1936. Since childhood he was engaged in fencing, in 1956 he became a master of sports, was the champion of the USSR in fencing. In 1959 he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Physical Culture named after P. Lesgaft. In 1958-1961 Balon worked as a senior coach of DSO Dynamo in Leningrad, in 1961-1964 he coached athletes in CSKA. Vladimir Yakovlevich Balon was born on February 23, 1936. Since childhood he was engaged in fencing, in 1956 he became a master of sports, was the champion of the USSR in fencing. In 1959 he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Physical Culture named after P. Lesgaft. In 1958-1961 Balon worked as a senior coach of DSO Dynamo in Leningrad, in 1961-1964 he coached athletes in CSKA. Leaving the coaching job, in the mid-1960s he came to the cinema and since 1966 worked as a stunt director, and as an actor made his debut in the film “Hussar Ballad” (1962), playing Kutuzov’s adjutant. Simultaneously with the staging of fights, Vladimir Balon began to star in small roles, and not only in stunt scenes. Among his notable works are the films “Sea Tales”, “Nikolai Bauman”, “The Sea of Our Hope”, “The World in Three Dimensions”, “Smile to a Neighbor”, “The Man of Legend”, “Rooster in Space”. Widely known brought Vladimir Balon the role of de Jussac in the television film “D’Artagnan and the Three Musketeers” (1978). Subsequently, he played in the sequels of this popular film, as well as in the historical and adventure picture of Svetlana Druzhinina “Guardians, go!”.
