David Shore was born in 1959 in London, but not in the UK, but in Canada, in Ontario. Sometimes Shore is called a writer in biographies, but he is better known as a film producer and screenwriter. Although by education, David is generally a lawyer, graduated from the University of Toronto and worked for some time as a lawyer, specializing in corporate law. His first work for television was the script of the series “Straight to the South” – about a Canadian mounted policeman who, by the will of fate, was in the United States. He then moved to Los Angeles to produce. David Shore was nominated twice for an Emmy for New York Police. Several of his subsequent works were not very successful. Luck smiled at him in 2002. He was approached by producer Paul Atanasio with a proposal to write something similar to the TV series “Law and Order”, “CSI: Crime Scene”, which were very popular with viewers, but not about police officers, but about doctors.
David Shore enthusiastically took up the case, but found a slightly different approach. Police detectives usually focus on solving the crime itself. And heroes are important because they are necessary for intrigue. Shore did the opposite, began to create a medical detective, where the main attention was paid to the hero, and the mystery became secondary. By the way, people who knew Shore himself well claimed that the scriptwriter “wrote with himself”. NBC, on behalf of which appealed to Shore Athanasio, oddly enough, the series is not interested. But it was acquired by Fox. This is how the TV series “Doctor House” came about. For the script of this television series, David Shore received an Emmy Award. But he was not only the writer of the series, and in some episodes acted as a director. His directorial debut was also successful. /
