Actor and director, Igor Olegovich was a native of Leningrad: he went with his city a hard way, never parting for a long time.
Igor Gorbachev was born on October 20, 1927. In his youth he studied at the Faculty of Philosophy of Leningrad University, simultaneously playing in the student theater. The role of Khlestakov (then at the level of amateur artistic activity) brought him first place at the show. Igor was so good in the role of a young adventurer that in 1952 he was invited to play the Gogol hero in the film “The Inspector” directed by Vladimir Petrov. After that, Gorbachev did not doubt his choice of profession.
The skill of a theater actor Igor Gorbachev mastered without a diploma, immediately in practice, as an artist of the troupe of the Bolshoi Drama Theater. Study at the acting faculty of the Leningrad Theatre Institute named after A.N. Ostrovsky took place later: Gorbachev became a certified specialist in 1959.

After a long illness Igor Olegovich died on February 19, 2003. /
