Acting in the biography of Nikolai Sergeevich got its start in 1958, when he graduated from the Kiev Theater Institute named after Karpenko-Karyo, was invited to work in the Crimean Russian Drama Theater named after Gorky, on the stage of which for four seasons managed to play more than twenty roles. Among his works of that period, the most successful were: the role of Herman in the play “Tanya”, Romeo in the play “Romeo and Juliet”, Don Juan in “The Stone Lord”, Acosta in the play “Uriel Acosta” and others.
In 1962, Nikolai Marton received an invitation to work in the Leningrad Academic Drama Theater named after A.S. Pushkin. Bright emotionality, musicality, expressiveness, an incredible combination of plastic and voice are the main features of Marton, thanks to which he became the leading artist of the troupe. A stunning success brought him work in the play “The Miserable Knight” by A.S. Pushkin, in which he played the role of Albert.
