Valentin Ivanovich Zubkov was born on 12 May 1923. With the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, in 1941-43 he studied at the Armavir Military Aviation School. He participated in amateur artistic activities, and in 1960 he became an actor of the Theatre-Studio of a film actor. The first role in the movie Valentin Zubkov played in the film “It began like this”, released in 1956. Valentin Ivanovich Zubkov was born on 12 May 1923. With the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, in 1941-43 he studied at the Armavir Military Aviation School. He participated in amateur artistic activities, and in 1960 he became an actor of the Theatre-Studio of a film actor. The first role in the movie Valentin Zubkov played in the film “It began like this”, released in 1956. During his not very long life, the actor starred in such famous Soviet directors as Mikhail Kalatozov (“Cranes Fly”), Yuli Raizman (“Communist”), Tatiana Lioznova (“Evdokia”), Viktor Tregubovich (“In war as in war”). Valentin Zubkov played his best roles in the drama of Konstantin Voinov “Three came out of the forest” – Sergey Koshelev; in the melodrama of Joseph Heifitz “Day of Happiness” – Fedor Orlov; in the film “Train of Mercy” (screen adaptation of Vera Panova’s novel “Satellites”) – Danilov. Of particular note is the work of the actor with director Andrei Tarkovsky in the film Ivan’s Childhood (1962), in which he played the role of Captain Holin. The film "Ivan's Childhood" received about twenty film awards, and many critics highly appreciated the main acting works of the film - Nikolai Burlyaev and Valentin Zubkov.
