In 1994, Anatoly Obukhov accepted the invitation of Nikolai Gubenko for a role in the theater “Commonwealth of Taganka Actors”. Returning home after another rehearsal, the actor felt ill and lost consciousness. Due to the callousness of metro workers and fellow travelers, Anatoly Matveevich lay on the floor for about an hour, until he was recognized by his colleagues from the theater. They called an ambulance, but it was too late.
He died on October 3, 1994.
