The future director spent his childhood and youth in the Arbat courtyards and a huge communal apartment. He dreamed of Stanislavsky and, having endured an incredibly huge competition in the Moscow Art Theater, became his student. Together with other comrades in the first year, he took an oath of loyalty to his ideal, which he sealed with blood.
After graduating from the studio school in 1949, Oleg Efremov began to work in the Central Children's Theater - the debut on the children's stage was the role of Ivan the Fool in the fairy tale "Humpbacked Horse". On the theatrical stage of the CDT Oleg Efremov played more than twenty roles.
